Shot over the course of 13 years, i think it’ll be okay is a testament to memory. The film was entirely shot on a Flip video camera. The goal of the film is to show the stark changes between ages 9 and 22, while still maintaining the similarities in demeanor between my brother and I.
The film is ultimately about change. Despite hardships, seemingly big at the time, in the end things eventually always came back to being okay.
On a surface level, the film is about me fixing my broken guitar. Guitar was always very emotional to me. I started playing guitar after my grandfather died. His instrument was brought home after his funeral and hidden in the closet. Whenever my parents weren’t home, I would sneak it out and try to learn how to play. Ever since, the instrument has been a place of comfort and solace to me.
